"You must be strict in preventing unauthorized persons from entering the concference venues, namely the BNDCC and BICC," Yudhoyono said.Nusa Dua (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has instructed police and the military to guarantee the security of the 19th ASEAN Summit and related high-level meetings to be held here on November 14-19, 2011.
The president told a coordination meeting here on Wednesday that security for heads of state/government and delegates to the summits in Bali must be guaranteed.
"You have to provide better security and pacification," the head of state said when he led a coordination meeting on ASEAN Summit preparations here on Wednesday.
According to the president, security was a crucial matter so that the organizers of other multilateral forums such as G20 and APEC always tightened security.
Therefore, the president ordered the rank and file of the military and police to make every effort to guarantee security during the summit of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN).
During his working visit in Bali, Yudhoyono also inspected the ASEAN summit venues.
He spoke a lot on security when he inspected the Bali Nusa Dua Convention (BNDCC) and Bali International Convention Center.
"Security and pacification of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), G20 and East Asia Summit are extra-ordinarily tightened. After all, there have been threats. Therefore, this place should be sterilized," he said.
The president also ordered the tightening of the use of IDs and monitoring cameras. "Those who have no ID should not enter the summit location," he added.

During the coordination meeting the president listened to the expose presented by Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi on the preparations of the ASEAN Summit and other related summits.
A number of ministers attended the meeting, among others, Political, Legal and Security Coordinating Minister Djoko Suyanto, People`s Welfare Coordinating Minister Agung Laksono, Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa, Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Mari Elka Pangestu, Communication and Informatics Minister Tifatul Sembiring, National n Defense Forces (TNI) Chief Admiral Agus Suhartono and Police Chief General Timur Pradopo.(*)
