Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Thailand`s sepak takraw team defeated Indonesia`s 3-0 in the 26th Southeast Asian Games held here on Saturday.

The Thai team, which faced a stiff challenge from the Indonesian team in the first round, won over Indonesians in the first qualification round of the women`s group of the SEA Games` sepak takraw competition.

Thai team manager Archarungroj said Indonesia`s women`s team was a strong team and played very good. Thai players were able to defeat them after they fought hard.

The hard work and good cooperation among the Thai players in the first qualification round were finally able to bring victory to the Thai team, Archarungroj said.(*)
