"With the economic crisis happening in Europe and the United States which are Indonesia`s traditional tourism markets, we wish to diversify our tourism promotion and engage tourists from ASEAN member states and emerging countries such as India, China and South Korea," said the minister.
She said in the January-September period of 2011, Indonesia had attracted a total of 6.6 million foreign tourists whereas its target for the whole year was 7.7 million.
For 2012, the government`s foreign tourist arrival target had been set at 8 million, she said.
