Ani Hidayat, as she was popularly called, was rushed to Siloam hospital on Gubeng Raya street but she died before reaching the hospital.
Ani was in Bali to accompany her husband for the 19th ASEAN Summit and on Friday evening flew to Surabaya to attend the wedding of a relative.
Minister MS Hidayat who was informed of the bad news, immediately left the summit in Bali for Surabaya to take the body of his wife to Jakarta. Until Friday evening, Hidayat was attend the gala dinner in Nusa Dua, Bali, as President Yudhoyono host.
Industry Ministry's Public Relations spokesman Hartono said in Jakarta that Ani`s remains would be flown to Jakarta for burial at Tanah Kusir public cemetery on Saturday afternoon.
Hartono said her remains would arrive at Halim Perdanakusuma airport in Jakarta at 12 noon and then to be buried at Tanah Kusir cemetery at 4 in the afternoon.
Ani Hidayat, a daughter of national hero HOS Tjokroaminoto, died at the age of 64, leaving behind her husband, five children, and 11 grand-children. (*)
