Palembang, South Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s female lifter Novita Sherly in the +69 kg class clinched a gold medal during the on-going 26th Southeast Asian Games here on Monday.

Novita succeeded in outclassing two rivals, namely compatriot Riska Anjani and Malaysia`s Nur Jannah Batrisyah.

Novita succeeded in collecting points to finally score 224 kg while Riska was only able to collect 218 kg and Nur Jannah 208 kg.

Vita, as Novita is popularly called, was successful in all the snatch, clean and jerk events. In the snatch, her first lifting weighed 92 kg, second 96 kg and third one 101 kg, which was her best lifting achievement.

In clean and jerk, she was able to lift 115 kg, 121 and 123 kgs in the first, second and third segments respectively.
