Yogyakarta (ANTARA News) - A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck Bantul district, Yogyakarta, province here on Thursday at 10.55 AM local time.

According to information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG the tremor was centered 144 kilometers southwest Bantul district at a depth of 10 kilometers.

"I only felt the tremor for a few seconds," Sutarti (45), a local resident said.

Up till now the related authorities are still checking on any damage caused by the earthquake.
