Speaking to reporters after attending a meeting between President Soesilo Bambang Yudhoyono and an Afghan Senate delegation earlier in the day, he said the president and the Afghan senators discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in democracy, education, economy and religious sectors.
In the education sector, he said, one of the Afghan senators expressed hope that Indonesia would accept more Afghan students to study in the country.
In cooperation regarding religious activities, Faiza said, there was an idea to establish an Islamic center to boost dialogue between ulemas from Indonesia and Afghanistan.
"Representatives from Afghanistan also express their hope that Indonesia will provide assistance for the peace process in Afghanistan after foreign forces leave the country in 2014," he said.
