JAKARTA, Indonesia, Dec. 19, 2011 (ANTARA/PRNewswire-Asia-AsiaNet) --
Two restaurants in Indonesia, Mozaic and Sarong, place in the 12th and 18th spot respectively in The Miele Guide 2011/2012 Asia's Top 20 restaurants.
Mozaic, set amidst a lush backdrop in Ubud, remains a consistent inclusion in Asia's Top 20 list as Chef Chris Salans continues to win over foodies with his distinctive use of Balinese ingredients and flavours combined with Western techniques. Chef Will Meyrick's Sarong, ascending from fifth place last year to the second place this year, delights diners with contemporary dishes that draw inspiration from all over Asia.
The remaining spots in Indonesia's Top 5 restaurants include the beachfront Seminyak lifestyle destination, KU DE TA, serving Chef Philip Davenport's brand of gourmet global cuisine that incorporates the freshest ingredients from the island. KU DE TA is joined in the list by its neighbour La Lucciola, which offers a rustic, romantic appeal, and Cascades Restaurant that presents French fare with an Asian hint in its open Balinese pavilions.
Published by Ate Media, The Miele Guide profiles Asia's Top 20 restaurants, picks the Top 5 restaurants in each country and includes the best 500 restaurants in Asia.
