Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Zhang Qiyue who will soon end his term of office as Chinese ambassador to Indonesia visited Vice President Boediono on Monday to say farewell.

At the meeting, Ambassador Zhang Qiyue who had occupied the post for three years and five months said he was pleased to work in Indonesia.

"I am sad to leave Indonesia because I like to work here very much, particularly because bilateral relations between the two countries are getting stronger," Zhang Qiyue was quoted by the vice presidential office`s official website as saying.

Zhang Qiyue who will leave Indonesia for his country on December 31, 2011 also expressed gratitude to the Indonesian government for its close cooperation with him while he was assigned in the country.

Economic ties between the two nations have been growing rapidly, with two-way trade expected to reach more than US$50 billion at the end of this year.

Zhang Qiyue also appreciated Indonesia for its success in chairing ASEAN. "And this year Indonesia as ASEAN chairman has made great success," he said.

Meanwhile, Vice President Boediono praised Zhang Qiyue for the cooperation he had established with the Indonesian government.

He expressed hope that Zhang Qiyue would continue to promote Indonesia in his new post.
