"We need the funds for the development of various infrastructure and health facilities, agricultural and other activities as well as tourism sites," Rycko said, adding that the district government would develop the region`s various tourism potentials and infrastructures in less accessible areas.
He said the amount of funds was high enough and therefore various parties including investors were expected to invest in those sectors.
According to him, the government of Lampung Selatan district alone would not be able to develop those sectors if it relied only on the regional budget of Rp14 trillion, of which only around five percent was allocated per year.
"The local government needs a new breakthrough to speed up the development in the area in 2012 and therefore investors are expected to invest in Lampung Selatan," he said.
Rycko expressed hope that all elements of the public in Lampung Selatan would fully support the implementation of many development projects in 2012 in the district.
