Banda Aceh, Aceh (ANTARA News) - Aceh Governor Irwandi Yusuf said solidarity is needed to build the region which is still continuing to struggle to conduct transformation and economic development after conflicts and natural disasters.

"All components in Aceh must be united and jointly carry out better development efforts in all sectors," he said in his written address read out by his expert staff Rahma Lubis here on Saturday on the sidelines of the regional leadership meeting of the Kosgoro 1957 mass organization.

The meeting was attended the general chairman of the Kosgoro collective leadership, Agung Laksono, the chief of the Aceh Golkar Party chapter, Sulaiman Abda and the chief of the Aceh Kosgoro chapter, Muhyan Yunan.

He said with the spirit of solidarity various programs made by the government to improve economic growth and people`s welfare would be accomplished.

"The struggle to build Aceh would be long so that solidarity and unity are needed for it," he said.

He said the Aceh government would continue to reduce the poverty rate in the Indonesian most western province through various pro-people economic programs.

"The Aceh government in 2012 has allocated around 34 percent of the proposed budget for the region at Rp8.6 trillion for carrying out people`s empowerment programs," he said.

He said with the allocation of quite huge funds the regional government hoped it could reduce the poverty rate in the region.

"We will continue to fight to make the rate drop by around two percent every year so that the people`s welfare will improve," he said.

He hoped Kosgoro could help promote the realization of the programs to become concrete works to be carried out by future government of the region.
