Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Thursday chaired a limited cabinet meeting to discuss progress in the construction of a peacekeeping force training center in Sentul, Bogor, West Java, which is due to be completed in 2014.

At the meeting held at the presidential office, the President listened to reports from Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro and other ministers on the status of the training center project.

The president noted that Indonesia often sends peacekeeping troops to conflict-torn parts of the world to serve under the UN flag.

The center would also comprise facilities for language, emergency and natural disaster response and counter-terrorism training.

"We also want to have a presentable campus for the Defense University. Although the university is already running, we need more representative facilities," he said.

"We will build the center gradually, in accordance with the available budget and priorities," he added.
