Earlier in the evening, a rocket from Gaza hit an empty field south of the city Ashkelon, according to Israeli army and police.
On Thursday morning, six Palestinians were wounded when Israeli planes launched two raids in Gaza after militants fired rockets into Israel.
The military said the raids were carried out after militants fired three rockets at southern Israel on Wednesday evening.
Since the beginning of the year, Palestinian militants have fired some 30 rockets at southern Israel, army statistics show.
Hamas has maintained a tacit truce with Israel, but other armed groups regularly fire rockets across the border, usually sparking retaliatory air strikes. (*)
