Amman (ANTARA News/Xinhua-OANA) - Jordan on Wednesday stressed rejection of foreign military interference in Syria and emphasized that it is seeking to avoid it, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

"Jordan`s position towards Syria is clear. We are a neighboring country. Syria`s interests, territorial integrity, stability and security are of our interests," Jordan`s Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said Wednesday.

The minister, who said Jordan wants an end to the unfortunate developments in Syria, stressed the need for a political solution to address the crisis.

Judeh said Jordan did not recognize the Syrian National Council as a sole legitimate representative of the Syrians.

However, he said Jordan recognizes the council`s main role as well as the role of other opposition groups as a main negotiator to ensure that there is an entity that conducts the dialogue with the Syrian government.

The minister also called for the immediate implementation of the six-point proposal by former UN secretary general Kofi Annan to end the crisis in Syria.
