"The regional governments must speed up the implementation of bureaucratic reform for the improvement of their performance," Azwar said while opening the socialization of regional bureaucratic reform in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Monday.
He said the workshop of socialization of regional bureaucratic reform that covered all provinces and districts in Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, and Kalimantan would run until April 12.
The workshop was being attended by regional government officials and the heads of regional development planning boards.
Azwar added that the participants were being enabled to remain informed about the policies and guidelines for regional bureaucratic reform.
"The matters discussed during the workshop are related to the arrangement of proposed bureaucratic reform documents, institutional setup, formulation `road map` and `quick win`, management reforms, independent assessment of the implementation of the bureaucratic reform, human resources management setup, strengthening of supervision and accountability, and the improvement of public service quality," he said.
