Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is now increasing its efforts to boost the diversification of processed fish products, a KKP official said.

KKP Spokesman Indra Sakti said in a statement made to available to ANTARA News here on Sunday that the diversification was done through increasing the capacity of small-scale fish businesses and fish processing industries .

He said that the ministry had been carrying out various pro-people programs such as increasing the supply chain and the value chain management of processed fish production.

Indra said that the matters were among others stated by Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sharif C Sutardjo in his address when visited Gresik District, East Java, on Saturday.

Indra also quoted the minister`s remarks who stated the need for integrating the networks among the related industries, like core industries, supporting industries and other related industries.

The KKP, according to the minister as quoted by the KKP spokesman, would continue to encourage and develop fish processing industries to produce products loved by consumers.

"Therefore, diversification of all forms of resources in the fishery sector should continue to be maximally made," the minister was quoted as saying.
