Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The National Economic Committee (KEN) has held a meeting with New Zealand Prime Minister John Key to discuss cooperation between Indonesia and New Zealand in a number of sectors.

"We discussed today cooperation in several sectors, among others, animal husbandry, agriculture, energy, geothermal, education and health," KEN chairman Chairul Tanjung said here on Monday.

He said that the cooperation was established in an effort to strengthen relations between Indonesia and New Zealand.

In the animal husbandry sector, Chairul said Indonesia was still lacking goat and cow meat supplies.

"We hope this cooperation would be continued to the investment level and technological guidance as well as guidance for Indonesian breeders. So, we hope cooperation would not be in the form of importing meat only," he added.

On the energy sector, Chairul said Indonesia hoped it would be able to increase the utilization of geothermal in the country.

"Indonesia`s geothermal potentials account for over 90 percent of the world`s. But New News Zealand has used most of geothermal potentials so that we hope we can have its assistance in the form of investment and technology transfer," he said.
