"I have received a report from the team conducting the autopsies that the organs remain intact."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A forensic expert on Friday assured the organs of two Indonesian migrant workers shot dead in Malaysia recently remain intact, ending speculations that the organs had been removed.

Dr Mun`im Idris of University of Indonesia (UI) gave the assurance after a forensic team had conducted autopsies on the bodies of the two migrant workers, identified as Abdul Kader Zaelani and Herman, at their cemetery at Pancor Kopong in East Nusa Tenggara province on Thursday.

"I have received a report from the team conducting the autopsies that the organs remain intact," he said when contacted through his cellular phone.

The head of the National Body of Indonesian Migrant Workers Placement and Protection (BNP2TKI), Moh Jumhur Hidayat justified Mun`im`s statement.

"True, all the organs of the Indonesian migrant workers remain intact," Jumhur said on Friday.

The forensic team was made up of six doctors from Bhayangkara police hospital in the West Nusa Tenggara provincial capital of Mataram, he said.

The repeat autopsies followed an allegation that the organs of three Indonesian migrant workers, identified as Abdul Kader Jaelani, Herman and Mad Noon shot dead in Malaysia had been removed and sold.

Before being flown to Indonesia, the Malaysian police had conducted autopsies on the bodies of the three migrant workers and handed the results of the autopsies to the Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

But the families of the three killed migrant workers and a number of non-governmental organizations including Migrant Care were suspicious of the bodies and called for repeat autopsies.

In response, BNP2TKI took the initiative to conduct repeat autopsies on the three bodies buried at their hometowns on April 5, 2012.
