Silverbrook Research today announced it has reached an agreement with Memjet which will enable the continued commercialization of Memjet's revolutionary color printing technology and which provides for the settlement of litigation in the UK, Ireland and Oklahoma.
Under the agreement, all legal claims between the parties will be withdrawn.
Also under the agreement, Memjet will assume direct ownership and control of the intellectual property portfolio related to the Memjet Technology, which includes some 4,000 issued and pending patents globally.
Kia Silverbrook, co-founder of Silverbrook Research, is one of the world's most prolific inventors with over 4,400 patents granted in the US alone. These patents include patents related to the Memjet Technology. Mr. Silverbrook will continue to support Memjet as a special advisor to the Memjet Board of Directors and as an ongoing consultant.
Mr. Silverbrook said, "I am pleased that agreement has been reached which clears the way for the ongoing development of the ground-breaking Memjet technology." Around [300] scientists and engineers employed by Silverbrook Research will now be offered employment by Memjet.
Mr. Silverbrook and his research team will now turn their attention to developing the other technologies they have invented over the last 12 years.
