"They left by land in the company of Indonesian special forces members and the police," Suryakencana Regiment chief in Bogor Colonel AM Putranto told newsmen at Cipelang village command post in Cijeruk, Bogor district, on Sunday.
He said the team will stay at the crash site for three days for the evacuation of the wreckage.
The 16-member Russian SAR team had left for the location of the wreckage by way of the main post command in Pasir Manggis, Cipelang village, Cijeruk subdistrict.
The 16 member team included six technicians and the rest is going to comb the crash site.
The things that they brought are ropes and other supporting equipment and tools.
The team will collect of what is left of the Sukhoi Superjet-100 airliner for examination.
It is not known whether they will also take part in the evacuation of the crash victims.(*)
