Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Five more body bags containing the remains of the ill-fated Sukhoi Superjet 100 victims were evacuated from the crash site on Thursday morning.

The bodies were later transported by two ambulances from Halim Perdanakusuma air force base to R Said Sukanto Police Hospital in eastern Jakarta.

"This morning, five body bags arrived. So, there are a total of 35 body bags containing the victims` remains and belongings," Brigadier General Musaddeq Ishaq, the head of the National Police`s Medical and Dental Health Centre, said.

"The medical team is continuing its efforts to identify the victims` DNA," he said.

"We need your prayers for speedy completion," Musaddeq added.

At least 176 members of the joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team are combing the crash scene on the tenth day of the aviation accident.

The Russian-made Sukhoi Superjet 100 with 45 people on board eight Russians, 35 Indonesians, one Frenchman, and one American was on a demonstration flight when it crashed into Mount Salak, Bogor district, West Java province, on Wednesday (May 9).

The evacuation process has been very difficult due to bad weather and extremely rough terrain of the mountainous area.
