Medvedev is scheduled to have two bilateral meetings with President Barrack Obama in his host's country residence in Camp David. The two leaders will meet in an informal atmosphere.
"The idea belongs to our American partners. They suggested an informal conversation between the leaders. This also explains the choice of venue for the summit," presidential aide Arkady Dvorkovich, who's known to be the Russian Sherpa in the G-8 told journalists the other day.
Vladimir Putin will be unable to participate in the summit since he's busy forming a new Russian government.
Dvorkovich said that all the leaders were ready to work with Dmitry Medvedev who's going to represent Russia at a meeting of the G-8 heads of state and government.
"Besides, Dmitry Medvedev has been to many summits. He has great experience in working in such formats," said Dvorkovich as quoted by Itar Tass.
The presidential aide said that Medvedev would have many contacts in Camp David.
"Dmitry Medvedev will meet all his colleagues. Some meetings will be formal, others will be less formal, including rendez-vous with U.S. President Barrack Obama, less formal," Dvorkovich added.
Dmitry Medvedev is expected to meet Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda.
"We have profound bilateral relations with Japan. We cooperate on many political, economic and cultural issues. We have a plan of bilateral meetings. They will take place at the G-20 summit in Los Cabos and at the APEC meeting in Vladivostok," Dvorkovich said.
The G-8 leaders will start communicating on Friday. The U.S. president will give dinner in honor of the summit's guests. The final schedule of Medvedev's bilateral meetings will be approved after this official dinner.(H-AK)
