Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian men`s singles player Simon Santoso advanced to the final round after beating Indian player Kashyap Parupalli 21-15, 21-12 in the Djarum Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2012 badminton tournament here on Saturday.

In the final round, Simon --the seventh seeded, will face the China`s player Pengyu Du, who previously defeated the champion of Thailand Open 2012, Sony Dwi Kuncoro in the quarter final of the tournament that took place in Istora Senayan.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian mixed doubles players Tontowi Ahmad-Liliyana Natsir also advanced to the final round after defeating the China`s second seeded China Xu Chen-Ma-Jin 21-16, 15-21, 21-16.

Tontowi-Liliyana in the final round will face the South Korean Ko Sung Hyun-Eom Hye won.

The country`s men`s doubles Markis Kido-Hendra Setiawan failed to reach the final round after being defeated by the South Korea`s Jung Jae Sung-Lee Yong Dae 21-14, 17-21, 15-21.

The prominent tournament with the total prize money of US$ 650,000 takes place from June 12 through 17. (*)
