"What we are seeing now is the commitment of both state institutions to eradicate corruption."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Presidential spokesperson Julian Aldrin Pasha has denied any conflict between the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the National Police (Polri) in connection with the investigation into alleged corruption during the procurement of driving simulators.

"What needs to be underlined is that there is no conflict between KPK and Polri with regard to the investigation. During the beginning of the case, there was a misunderstanding between both sides, but it has been discussed and sorted out. Now both the KPK and Polri are working together in the case of Traffic Police Corps (Korlantas)," he said here on Tuesday.

Julian added that the decision by KPK and Polri to jointly investigate the corruption case showed their commitment to fighting corruption in the nation.

"What we are seeing now is the commitment of both state institutions to eradicate corruption. I`m sure that people can put their trust in the collaborative efforts of KPK and Polri," he stated.

In response to the call for Presidential intervention in the corruption case, Julian said President Yudhoyono had instructed Coordinating Minister for Politics, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto to coordinate with KPK head Abraham Samad and National Police Chief Gen. Timur Pradopo.

"The President`s orders have been communicated obviously and both chiefs have agreed to work together to solve the case," he added.
