If we continue to maintain it, it will be the tenth strongest in 2025Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s economy is now experiencing rapid progress, and if such a condition continues to be maintained the country's economy will grow to become the tenth strongest in the world by 2025, Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa said here overnight.
"The economy of Indonesia is moving ahead steadily and it is now the 15th strongest in the world. If we continue to maintain it, it will be the tenth strongest in 2025," the economic minister noted.
He explained that the people`s standard of living is predicted to improve in 2014 with an income per capita over US$5,000, and by 2025 it will reach US$16,000 to make Indonesia among the ten strongest economic countries in the world.
According to the minister, much of the world previously turned a blind eye to Indonesia, but now the country is parallel to the other nations in the world.
Therefore, he added, Indonesia would take its place among the great nations as its people become prosperous and Indonesia assists in solving the world's economic problems.
"Indonesia is a member of G-20. It means the country is one of the 20 largest in the world," Hatta said, adding that he would continue to encourage people-based economic programs.
