"They were caught in two different places."
Denpasar (ANTARA News) - Bali Police arrested two foreigners, a German and a Spanish national, due to their possession of illegal drugs.

"From the provisional investigation, they do not know each other and have no relations. They were caught in two different places," said spokesperson Adjunct Senior Commissioner Sri Harmiti.

The German, named Peter, was arrested on Friday (Aug 10) at his rented house on Jalan Bet Ngandang II Gang Indah No. 3, Sanur, Denpasar, while the Spanish citizen, David, was apprehended at Bale Residence on Jalan Gunung Wayang, North Kuta, Badung district.

Police report discovering 211 grams of marijuana at Peter`s house, and a packet of 3.62 grams of crystal methamphetamine (sabu-sabu) when raiding David's home. Additionally, police seized two bongs and two glass tubes used for storage of the drugs.

"The suspects said the drugs were for their private use," the spokesperson added.

Further, Bali Police are still investigating whether the two suspects were members of an international drug syndicate.

Both foreigners are now being detained by the Bali Police, and if found guilty could receive sentences of 12 years in jail based upon Article 112 Indonesian Laws No. 35/2009 on drug abuse.
