NARATHIWAT (ANTARA News) - Five Thai army soldiers were wounded in a bombing in Narathiwat as their pickup passed a bridge in Tak Bai district.

The bomb was believed triggered by a mobile phone signal.

The explosion damaged part of the bridge and left a crater six feet wide and five feet deep.

Five soldiers were given first aid treatment and sent to hospital.

Bomb shrapnel from the remote controlled bomb was scattered around the area. It was built into a 15kg fire extinguisher.
