... they were peaceful but the police made them anger...
Islamabad, Pakistan (ANTARA News) - At least eight protesters were injured Sunday as thousands of them marched to the American consulate in Pakistani city of Karachi to protest against anti- Islam movie made in the United States.

Protestors from the Shiite group Wahdat-e-Muslimeen pelted stones at the US consulate after they arrived at the main gate. Police fired in the air, used tear gas shells and water cannons to disperse the angry people.

Paramilitary soldiers were also deployed to secure the consulate building but the demonstrators crossed all police barricades. The group condemned the police action and said they were peaceful but the police made them anger.

A police post outside the US consulate was burnt, local media reported. Demonstrators also attacked police mobile vans.
