Adrianus predicted that the BEI index would close at around 4,239 points Wednesday.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) opened trade this morning with share prices falling to follow the regional trend.

Adrianus Biasan, an analyst from Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia, said here Wednesday that a new decision of the Supreme Court allowing hair cuts by banks should give a positive sentiment to banking shares.

The composite share price index of the BEI dropped 0.55 percent to 4,209.75 points with the index of 45 most liquid stocks shrinking 0.64 percent to 721.11 points.

The Asian market weakened on worries that the Fed`s quantitative easing is no longer effective to shore up flagging US economy.

The US markets closed 1 percent lower last night as The Fed official said the monetary policy was not strong enough to prop up the economy.

Adrianus predicted that the BEI index would close at around 4,239 points Wednesday.
