Beirut (ANTARA News/Xinhua-OANA) - The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reaffirmed Saturday (Oct. 13) that the international peace- keeping forces did not detect any flight operation from Lebanon in the direction of occupied Palestine, the National News Agency reported.

In an interview to the NNA, UNIFIL Spokesman Andrea Tenenti said the forces have no information with regards to any pilot-less planes.

He said "as part of our scope of operations stipulated by UN Council decision 1701, the UNIFIL monitors the Lebanese airspace in the South, and we have not detected any activity in our area of operations."

Israel shut down a drone that infiltrated its airspace last week and claimed that it suspected the drone was operated by the Lebanese militant group of Hezbollah.

On Thursday, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah claimed the party`s responsibility of the drone.
