Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) spokesman Johan Budi said that an agreement has been reached with the police with regard to the investigation of the alleged corruption case in the traffic police corps.

"With the submission of the letter it means an agreement has been reached between KPK and the police with regard to the investigation of the case," he said here on Monday.

The police officially submitted a letter to KPK on Monday evening to hand over the investigation of the case involving some police generals.

Johan said so the KPK and the police shared the same view over the case.

He expressed appreciation to the police over the letter and their statement that the police have stopped investigating the case.

With the police letter he said the investigation of the case would be accelerated.

"As the issue that has been disputed so far has gone the investigation process certainly would be speedier," he said.

Police spokesman Brigadier General Boy Rafli Amar said the police decision to hand over the investigation of the case to KPK was based on the president`s order made recently.(*)
