Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has expressed his hope that Christmas 2012 would be celebrated inclusively and enjoyed by all Indonesians who wish to participate, National Christmas Committee Chairperson Nafsiah Mboi said here on Friday.

"The president said the Christmas celebration this year should be inclusive and enjoyed and understood by all parties," Nafsiah noted, after being received by the head of state.

Nafsiah, the health minister, along with Tourism and Creative Economic Minister Mari Elka Pangestu and Deputy Religious Affairs Minister Nazzaruddin Umar, met with the president in his office on Friday.

According to Nafsiah, the peak event during Christmas 2012 would be held at the Jakarta Convention Center on December 27 and attended by President Yudhoyono and Vice President Boediono.

She noted that National Christmas Committee would also conduct civic missions in Lampung Selatan district, Papua province, Singkawang district in West Kalimantan, and in South Sulawesi.

The civic mission in Lampung Selatan is to be led by Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro, in Papua by Environment Minister Bert Kambuaya, in Singkawang by Tourism and Creative Economic Minister Mari Elka Pangestu, and in South Sulawesi by Transportation Minister EE Mangindaan. (*)
