Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik is scheduled to inaugurate a thermal power plant with a capacity of 2x125 megawatts in Jeneponto district, South Sulawesi province, on Wednesday.

The first phase of the Jeneponto thermal power plant was built at a cost of US$250 million, Erwin Aksa, chief executive officer of PT Bosowa Energy said in a press statement released on Sunday.

PT Bosowa Energy is a subsidiary of Bosowa and PT Sumberenergi Sakti Prima (SSP) which operate the power plant.

Erwin said the construction of the power plant which will sell electrical power to state electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) is six months earlier than originally planned.

He said Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Liu Jianchao is also expected to attend the inauguration of the power plant. (*)
