The apprentices will work for three years in companies in Japan.
Padang (ANTARA News) - The provincial government of West Sumatra will send 30 potential entrepreneurs to Japan in 2013, to take part in apprenticeship programmes in a number of companies in Japan.

These candidates were selected from a pool of 243 people who had registered for the programme, said the Governor of West Sumatra, Irwan Prayitno, on Wednesday.

He said the candidates had been selected in 2012. These 30 entrepreneurs will be sent to Japan in 2013.

The apprentices will work for three years in companies in Japan.

The participants are from West Sumatra. They had been selected by the Department of Manpower and Transmigration. The candidates had been given pre-departure briefing and training.

According to him, the prospective entrepreneur internship programme had been implemented in 2000. As of today, close to 409 people have successfully completed the programme.

A total of 116 people have become entrepreneurs and 142 people have been employed in the industry, 15 people are working as teachers and 136 people have not submitted details of their businesses, he added.
