Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) opened trade this morning with composite share price index gaining 9.94 points on positive sentiments form the US market.

The BEI index rose 0.23 percent to 4,356.41 points with the index of 45 most liquid stocks following with a 0.34 percent rise to 745.34 points.

"The majority markets in Asia gained this morning buoyed by the strengthening of the US market and commodity price hike last night," Samuel Sekuritas` analyst Adrianus Bias said here on Thursday.

Adrianus said the US index grew significantly by 2.5 percent boosted by the agreement reached between the US Senate and Congress on way to avoid fiscal cliff.

"President Obama is reported to immediately sign a budget proposal tonight," he said.

US manufacturing index data, which grew beyond expectation also gave positive sentiment to the market, he added. He predicted that the BEI index would grow further today to the level of 4,375 points with the rally in the US market especially commodity market.

Regional markets Hang Seng recorded a 0.25 percent fall in index to 23,252.86 points with Nikkei-225 index rising 0.70 percent to 10,395.18 points and Straits Times gaining 0.67 percent to 3,223.23 points.(*)
