"The weather is bad and the tides are high."Bandarlampung (ANTARA News) - According to the PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, the number of operational stacking trucks in Java is on the decline, although there are hundreds of stacking trucks at several ports.
"At piers one, two and three, there are 600 trucks ready to be transported to Merak," said the Operational Manager at the PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, Heru Purwanto, in Bakauheni, on Monday.
He said that the number of operational vessels has reached 26, compared to only 16 three days back.
There is a decline in the number of vehicles at Bakauheni and Merak Ports because of bad weather.
"The weather is bad and the tides are high," he said.
He said the company is keen on maintaining safety, so only some boats will be allowed to sail.
He also said the port management did not report the offences of truck drivers at Port Bakauheni.
"We will investigate the case and find out who reported the offences," he said.
Earlier, a truck driver at Port Bakaheni had paid between Rp 100,000 and Rp 300,000 to sail to Merak, Banten quickly, without being caught up in sea traffic.
