"We have prepare ourselves."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Residents of Jakarta are bracing themselves for possible flood on Tuesday following heavy rain that hit the city during the past two days.
"We have prepare ourselves. Flood has becoming a yearly even for us," Andi, resident of Kampung Pulo, East Jakarta, said here on Tuesday.
According to ANTARA`s News observation people in Kampung Pulo have put up their electronic goods and other valuables to the second floor of their house. Meanwhile children, pregnant women and old people have been evacuated to safer place.
Earlier spokesman to Jakarta`s Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Iwan Samosir said emergency centers have been established in several locations in the city. The centers will be equipped with food supply, blankets, medicine and doctors.
Up till now, two subdistricts in Jakarta have been hit by flood namely Kampung Melayu and Bidara Cina.
