"The conflict should be resolved using correct and effective means."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s new sports minister, Roy Suryo, said a conflict with regard to the national football association, PSSI, should be resolved immediately.
On Thursday, he said the root cause of the problem should be identified.
"The conflict should be resolved using correct and effective means," he said.
He said the conflict had not been resolved because of the existence of two camps - PSSI and KPSI (Indonesia Football Saviour Commission).
Even the former sports minister, Andi Mallarangeng, had tried to resolve the conflict, but he was not successful. Andi Mallarangeng had resigned after his alleged involvement in a corruption case. The sports case was then given to chief minister Agung Laksono. Sadly, he was unable to solve the problem too.
The government is dealing with the problem carefully since these two camps are led by noted businessmen - Nirwan Bakrie and Arifin Panigoro.
Roy Suryo said he has never sought anyone's help.
"I have never promised or invited anyone, including voters, through text messages, the Blackberry messenger, twitter, websites, staff, courier and by phone," he said.
