Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono will visit Liberia and several countries in Africa and the Middle East.

The President will board a flight at the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, and will return to Indonesia on February 7, 2013.

According to the President Special Staff on International Relations, Teuku Faizasyah, the President and several delegates will visit Liberia, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.

The President will visit Monrovia, Liberia, to attend the High Level Panel of Eminent Persons on Post-2015 Development Agenda meeting.

This is the third meeting; the first meeting was held in New York, United States, on September 25, 2012, and the second meeting was held in London, England, on November 1, 2012.

The Indonesian President will also meet the Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, to look into bilateral cooperation efforts in several sectors, including trade, investments and technical cooperation.

Indonesian delegates will also hold meetings with their Liberian counterparts.

Then, the Indonesian President will visit Abuja, Nigeria, and have a bilateral meeting with the Nigerian President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Yudhoyono will look into the following issues: trade, investments, politics and security, as well as socio-cultural development.

Then, Yudhoyono will attend the Business Forum. In this forum, Indonesian and Saudi entrepreneurs will be present.

President Yudhoyono and the First Lady will also hold the umrah worship in Mekkah, Saudi Arabia.

Then, the Indonesian President will attend the twelfth Summit of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Cairo, Egypt.

The summit's theme is, "The Muslim World: New Challenges and Expanding Opportunities".

Several issues that will be discussed during the meeting include economic, social, cultural and technological development.

Then, the members of the OIC will look into pressing issues, including the dispute in Palestine and conflicts that involve Muslims.

President Yudhoyono, the First Lady and the Indonesian delegation will return to Indonesia on February 7, 2013.

"The President's visit to Africa and the Middle East shows that Indonesia is keen on building relations with a number of countries," said Faizasyah.

He added that Yudhoyono will hold a number of bilateral meetings in Liberia, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia.

"The Indonesian delegation will look into the development of other sectors too," he said.

According to Faizasyah, the President is one of the three chairpersons at the High Level Panel of Eminent Persons on Post-2015 Development Agenda meeting, which will ensure that the development agenda after 2015 is in line with the target set by the member countries.

He said the objective of the agenda is to reduce poverty by attaining sustainable growth with equity.

Meanwhile, the President`s presence at the OIC summit in Egypt is indicative of the country's commitment to promote cooperation among OIC member countries.

The last OIC Summit was held in Dakar, Senegal, in 2008. (*)
