Bandarlampung (ANTARA News) - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) office said an earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Lampung on Tuesday but no report of casualty and damage to property.

The quake hit at 18.08 local time with epicenter in the Sunda Strait 10 kilometer deep, 154 kilometers Southwest of Bandarlampung and 256 kilometers southwest of Jakarta.

Head of the meteorology office in Kotabumi Lampung Yuharman said the quake would cause no tsunami.

A minor quake was also reported jolting West Sumatra earlier this afternoon.(*)
