"The baby girl of Arington and Nurmaya drowned in a puddle near her parent`s house on Wednesday morning," said Rokan Hulu BPBD Head Aceng Herdiana here on Wednesday evening.
The latest casualty increased the death toll from floods in Riau into three.
The two other fatal victims were respectively Haryanto, 18, and Adi, 14, both inhabitants of Kampar District, Mitra of the Riau BPBD, said earlier.
Haryanto was swept away when Kampar River overflowed on Sunday (Feb 17) in East Salo Village, Salo Sub District.
His body was found around 20 meters away from the scene, a day after the incident.
The Kampar BPBD head, Ali Zabar, said the other victim was, Adi, who drowned in Tapung River of Sinama Nenek Village in Tapung Hulu Sub-district on February 8, 2013.
Adi`s body was also was found a day after he swept away by the river`s overflow.
Floods have inundated several regions in Riau Province since the past several days, forcing thousands of people to take refuge in emergency tents.(*)
