"The team would work hard to find persons with good competency and integrity..."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is seeking four advisers to replace current advisers and fulfill the demand of the law.
A selection team, led by a sociologist from state University of Indonesia, Imam Prasodjo, is currently working to collect the candidates to be chosen for the post.
"The team would work hard to find persons with good competency and integrity, leadership and who are not partisan and also trusted by the public to strengthen the KPK," Imam Prasodjo said at a press conference here on Monday.
The registration of candidates was opened on Monday while the four advisers to be selected later would be in the post for the period of 2013-2017.
Members of the selection team include Syafii Maarif, the former Islamic organization Muhammadiyah leader, Mochtar Pabotinggi, a researcher of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences, former KPK leader Bibit Samad Riyanto and Yunus Husein, the former chief of the Financial Reporting and Analysis Center.
Imam said selection would be carried out in five stages and we have been asked to select eight candidates, four of them to be finally selected by KPK leadership.
He said the stages include registration, administrative selection, assessment of competency and integrity, advanced assessment covering interviews by the selection team, simulation and health tests and interviews by KPK leadership.
"We appeal to all public institutions to pro-actively propose figures while we will also invite those we think credible enough to register who we will also report but we will not guarantee their passage," he said.
Right now KPK only has two advisers or half of the number required by Law Number 30 of 2002 on KPK and one of them has been in the post for two terms while the other one has said he would not seek re-election due to personal reasons perhaps health and age issues, KPK secretary general Annies Said Basalamah said on the occasion.
The current advisers are Abdullah Hehamahua who has been in the post for two terms and Said Zainal Abidin.
Other requirements that candidates must meet are they must have minimally 15 years of experience in the fields of criminal or civil laws, financial or banking affairs, state administration, management, organization, psychology, information technology or cumulative auditing system.
Candidates must also be minimally 50 years old by the end of the working period of the selection team on May 7, 2013, have minimally S1 or four years university education, and been no longer active in political parties for the past five years.
