Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Ambassador to Australia and Vanuatu, Nadjib Riphat Kesoema, submitted his Letters of Credential to the President of Vanuatu, Lolu Johnson Abil, at his residence on Tuesday, Feb 26.

After the Credential Letters submission Ambassador Nadjib also talks with the President of Vanuatu which took place in a friendly atmosphere, according to a press release from the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry received here Wednesday.

On the occasion, Indonesian Ambassador also conveyed greetings from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the Indonesian people to the President Loju Johnson Abil and the people of Vanuatu.

Ambassador Nadjib also said that the ties between Indonesia and Vanuatu have been moving towards a higher level, marked by the signing of the Development Agreement between the two countries in December 2011.

The signing of the agreement will expand the friendship between the two countries and strengthen the foundation in developing and preserving bilateral development cooperation.

The Ambassador hoped that bilateral relations can be further improved and expanded to encourage the people of the two countries to explore opportunities of economic cooperation and to highlight the importance of increasing people-to-people contact between the two countries and promote cooperation with various parties for the benefit of the South Pacific region.

During the meeting, the Indonesian Ambassador also said that Indonesia has a strong commitment to assist Vanuatu in capacity-building and cooperation.

The President of Vanuatu conveyed his warm greetings to the President and the people of Indonesia.

The Credential Letters ceremony took place according to the rules of protocol and the traditions of the Government of Vanuatu.

The Indonesian Ambassador was accompanied by Embassy officials in Canberra.
