Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named PT Adhi Karya Operations Director, Teuku Bagus Mukhamad Noor, another suspect in the Hambalang corruption case here on Friday.

"This afternoon investigators found two pieces of evidence enough to conclude the involvement of TBMN in the corruption case in the sports center development project in Hambalang in 2010-2012," KPK spokesman Johan Budi said.

Teuku Bagus was believed to have caused the state to suffer a loss, as a contractor for the Rp2.5 trillion worth project.

Johan said KPK would not stop investigating the case to find possible other suspects involved in the case.

He said "certainly after one is named suspect investigation will be continued to check the suspect`s wealth."

In view of that he would ask the Financial Transactions Analysis and Reporting Center to check for suspicious transactions put in the suspect`s accounts.

The State Audit Board (BPK) has concluded there are indications of law violations and power abuse by several parties in the project causing the state to lose up to Rp246.66 billion per October 30, 2012.

One of the BPK`s findings is relating to the multi-year contract approved by the finance minister and processed by the director general of budget believed to violate the PMK 56/PMK.02/2020 regulation.

In connection with the case KPK has so far named several suspects including former sports minister Andi Mallarangeng.

Andi Mallarangeng`s brother and also family spokesman, Rizal Mallarangengs, hailed KPK`s decision to name TBMN suspect in the case.

"This is a big progress and a big stride," he said here on Friday.

"Thank God, the scandal is now started to be uncovered, so long as everything is investigated thoroughly including Teuku Bagus` accounts. All involved in the case must be dealt with," he said.

Rizal said Teuku is a key figure because the money, after the budget was signed by the finance minister, went directly to PT Adhi Karya and not to the sports ministry. From PT Adhi Karya it then went directly to Mahfud Suroso, the president director of PT Dutasari Citralaras, a sub-contractor in the project.

Rizal said if Teuku Bagus and Mahfud Suroso had been named suspects the case could be settled quickly.(*)
