Berlin (ANTARA News) - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his German counterpart, Joachim Gauck, held a meeting here on Monday in which they praised relations between the two countries so far and agreed to continue boosting their cooperation.

"We are glad with the present state of our relations," President Yudhoyono said after the meeting at Hotel Adlon Kempinski.

He said the two heads of state had been committed to continue boosting mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

President Yudhoyono was greeted by President Gauck in a state ceremony at the Schloss Bellevue Palace on Monday following his arrival for a state visit at Tegel airport in Berlin on Sunday night.

He was accompanied by several cabinet ministers including Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, Industry Minister MS Hidayat, Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan and Tourism Minister Mari Elka Pangestu.

When the two countries` presidents met, First Lady Ani Yudhoyono held a meeting in a separate chamber with Germany`s First Lady Daniel Schadt.

After Germany President Yudhoyono will go to Hungary also for a state visit. He will return home on March 8. (*)
