Ambon (ANTARA News) - The Ambon Immigration Office is to repatriate the remaining 10 Cambodian nationals, victims of human trafficking, through the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta.

"We are still waiting for the documents from the Embassy (of Cambodia) in Jakarta to process the repatriation," Head of the Ambon Immigration Office Dewa Sukawiryawan said here Tuesday.

The Cambodians would be escorted by officers of the Ambon Immigration Office and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) from Pattimura Airport of Ambon to Jakarta.

Upon their Arrival in Jakarta, the Cambodians will be handed to the Directorate General of Immigration Office before being repatriated through the Soekarno-Hatta International irport.

Previously, the Ambon Immigration Office with the cooperation of local IOM officers had repatriated 20 Cambodians in February.

As many as 30 Cambodians had been staying in the regional immigration office in Passo Village, Ambon since January 2013.

"They were cheated by some Thailand`s companies that promised them decent occupations. However, they were employed as fishermen in Maluku waters instead," Sukawiryawan said.

The Cambodians were cast away in Ambon Island. The Policemen in cooperation with the regional immigration office detained the immigrants and secured them in an immigration quarantine house in Passo Village.
