The donation was allocated from 0.5 percent of investment amount of the FSI Peka Fund`s customers.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - First State IndoEquity (FSI) Peka Fund has donated Rp900 million to Kelola Foundation and the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF) in order to support their action-based programs.

President Director of FSI Indonesia Hario Soeprobo said here on Wednesday that the donation was allocated from 0.5 percent of investment amount of the FSI Peka Fund`s customers through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.

"FSI Indonesia and Citibank Indonesia have initiated to set a lower management expense of their mutual funds in order to provide opportunity for the investors to participate in supporting the community and environmental development in Indonesia, without affecting their mutual funds performances," he said.

The donation amount was increased from Rp400 million in 2012 to Rp500 million in 2013 in order to support Indonesian artists, while for BOSF is Rp400 million which is the first-time donation to FSI Peka Fund aiming to develop donation distribution.

Citibank takes a role as the exclusive distributor and custodian bank of the FSI Peka Fund and FSI as the management operator have established the first social responsibility-based mutual fund company in Indonesia.

Regarding the CSR awardee`s category from FSI Peka Fund, Director Retail Investment and Consumer Treasury Head Citibank Indonesia Harsya Prasetyo said they look for an organization or a foundation which works in the community and the environmental fields.

"But, we more focus on the action-based one, instead of the campaign-based organization or foundation as our donation was aimed to give a real tangible change for the community," he said.

Thus, the company was considered the Kelola Foundation and BOSF as highly dedicated NGOs that create positive and direct impacts on the community and rescuing orangutans in Indonesia.
