"The training is a concrete form of Indonesian support to Palestine. Indonesia is also consistent to support Palestine to become an independent and sovereign state," the ministry`s Director of Technical Cooperation Siti Nugraha Mauludiah said here on Wednesday.
But the training of micro-finance management can not be held in Palestine territory because of the difficulties in obtaining an entry permit from Israel.
Initially, the training had planned to held in Ramallah but it was replaced to Amman, Jordan due to technical problems, she said.
The training, which was held on April 12-15, was participated in by 30 Palestinians consisting of employees of the Palestinian finance ministry, Central Bank and the Palestinian SMEs from Gaza and the West Bank.
The program is a part of the framework of the New Asian African Strategic Partnership/NAASP.
Indonesia is optimistic that it will be able to realize the commitment to train 1,000 Palestinians during the 2008-2013 period.
Up to late 2012, Indonesia had facilitated 101 activities which were participated in by 842 Palestinians.
Indonesia has allocated US$1.5 million in 2013 to finance various activities to improve Palestine`s capacity building in the fields such as SMEs, democracy, good governance, agriculture, education, women`s empowerment and construction.
In February 2014, Indonesia will also host the Conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD) II.
