The President hoped the 2014 Government Work Plan and the draft 2013 revised state budget could be immediately submitted to the House of Representatives.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono held a closed-door meeting here on Monday to discuss the Government Work Plan (RKP) and the draft 2013 revised state budget (RAPBN-P).

"It`s not the first time we hold a meeting to discuss these matters. In fact, we have already conducted a national meeting on national development planning. With the meeting we wish to ensure that the RKP and RAPBN-P are ready before being submitted to the parliament, involving central and local government officials to provide some inputs," President Yudhoyono said.

The President hoped the 2014 Government Work Plan and the draft 2013 revised state budget could be immediately submitted to the House of Representatives.

"Last Monday, accompanied by the Vice President and several ministers I met with the speaker and vice speakers of the House of Representatives. We discussed about the 2013 revised state budget, including the policy for reduction of fuel subsidies and its social protection scheme. Not only that, we also talked about the 2014 RKP," he explained.

Yudhoyono asserted that the 2014 Government Work Plan and the draft 2013 revised state budget are both very important for national development and so the government should provide their drafts completely and accurately.

"RAPBN-P is important for maintaining economic growth, controlling inflation, and reducing poverty," the Head of State said.

He further said, the 2014 Government Work Plan is one of the keys to national development as the term of the current administration will end in 2014, and so it is expected during the remaining period the government could achieve the targets of the five-year term development plan.

On that occasion, President Yudhoyono was accompanied by Vice President Boediono, State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam, Minister of National Development Planning Armida Alisjahbana, and several other state officials.(*)
