The price of Samsung`s OLED TV may be over 10 million won, similar to that of LG Electronics.Seoul (ANTARA News/Yonhap) - Samsung Electronics Co., the world`s largest manufacturer of flat-TVs, is planning to roll out a 55-inch organic emitting diode (OLED) TV in South Korea next week, joining a race for the next-generation TV market, industry sources said Wednesday.
The scheduled move by Samsung Electronics follows its local rival LG Electronics Co. which started receiving orders for the same-size OLED TVs in January for the first time in the world.

Samsung Electronics is also reportedly to put out an OLED TV with a curved display in the country as well next week.
LG Electronics rolled out a similar revolutionary model with a 55-inch curved screen in April this year for the first time in the world, helping the South Korean home appliance maker widen a gap with its rival Samsung and other global TV makers in the race for the burgeoning market.
Global TV makers have been ramping up efforts to commercialize OLED TVs, which enable slimmer designs and more vivid images compared with liquid crystal displays that require a backlight.
Last year, Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics competitively unveiled 55-inch OLED TVs with plans to roll out the product. Both companies, however, failed to mass produce the OLED TVs due to low production yields.
